Here in Britain we are rapidly heading towards a one-party rule and a fully-fledged dictatorship.
But a dictatorial regime, even when imposed, is usually well deserved, because there is no loss of freedom without political apathy and complacency. Therefore, what we need right now is strong political will on the side of the opposition and coordinated cross-party political action to restore our freedoms and stop our democracy from fading away into totalitarianism.
It’s already late. It’s the eleventh hour. And, like any lost battle, that which is fought in time can have terrible long-term consequences.
